NCMS cross country photo at home meet

      The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team hosted a meet at the Spring Creek Golf Course on Thursday, September 23. After a week of rest, the Thunder team was ready to run again. Everybody was feeling confident since they were familiar with the course. There were four NC runners present. They included Bob Langill, Colten Corby, Gus Rusche, and Rachel Nordhus. NC, Hiawatha, ACCHS, Washington, and Saint Mary's Academy also competed in the meet.

      There were 37 middle school runners in all.  Bob Langill finished with a time of 12:25 coming in 4th in the eighth-grade boys' division out of 12 runners. Colten Corby finished with a time of 12:17 coming in 1st  while Gus Rusche finished with a time of 15:19 coming in 8th in the seventh-grade boys' division of 12 runners. Rachel Nordhus finished with a time of 14:59 coming in 2nd in the seventh-grade girls' division of 4 runners.

       “The weather was nice and everyone did well in their race,” said Rachel Nordhus.

        The NCMS team had a great race and almost everyone beat their previous personal record. There were some different teams at the meet, but the runners still did really well.
