It was a sweet day with lemonade for the first grade class at Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School on Friday, April 25, 2025. The students celebrated “Lemonade with Loved Ones” with someone they love.
The students enjoyed some lemonade and cake with their loved ones. To decide what type of lemonade they wanted, they sampled two different kinds before deciding which one to choose. Their options for lemonade were pink (strawberry) lemonade or yellow (regular). For the snack cake options, there was also pink or yellow, going with the lemonade theme.
Josie Winkler said, “I had fun with my grandma whenever we had lemonade and cakes.”
Following the sweet snacks, the students participated in “Lemonade Day” activities, these activities included the students and their loved ones graphing the class favorite pink or yellow lemonade. After tasting and deciding which lemonade flavor was the students and their loved ones' favorite, they got to put a pink circle or yellow circle on a chart, to see which one everyone in the class liked more.
The students also did a word scramble using the words Lemonade Day. The goal was to create as many words as they could using only those letters. The final activity of the Lemonade with Loved Ones day was completed by designing a lemonade stand with their loved one. The students and their loved ones came up with some awesome stands. This really shows how sweet of a day they had with their loved one, and getting to do all these fun activities with them too.
Brooks Heinen said, “I loved drinking lemonade and doing fun activities.”
