The third graders at Nemaha Central Elementary School went on their field trip on Tuesday, May 2 to the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan and afterward played at the Frankfort City Park. The students participated in multiple activities at the Discovery Center to learn about the Flint Hills and had a lot of fun.
The Flint Hills Discovery Center teaches students about science, history, and culture through interactive exhibits focused on the wonder and beauty of the Flint Hills. Some of the exhibits include the Just For Kids, Outdoor Classroom, and the Prairie Garden Terrace and Trail.
“We had lots of fun at the Discovery Center,” said Vincent Elder.
After spending the morning at the Flint Hills Discovery Center, the third grade students traveled to the Frankfort City Park. At the park, they ate lunch and played on the jungle gym, swings, slides, and much more.
“The best part would have to be the jungle gym,” said Zariah Bauerle.
Overall, the field trip was a success and extremely fun for the third graders. They learned a lot about the Flint Hills while participating in fun activities.
