NC pinning an opponent

The Nemaha Central wrestling team traveled to Perry on Tuesday, November 1. They came off their first meet ready to win some matches. There were five schools at the meet. The schools that the NC Thunder competed against were Pleasant Ridge, Royal Valley, Jeff West, and Perry-Lecompton. 

NC had seven 8th graders that participated in this meet. At 90 pounds, Harry Langill went 3-0; at 100 pounds, Isaac Heinen went 1-1, at 115 pounds, Brady Koch went 2-0; at 120 pounds, Harper Foster went 1-3; at 134 pounds, Conner Lueger went 1-2; at 141 pounds, Logan Richards went 3-0; at 180 pounds, Kyler Ganstrom went 2-0. At the end of the meet, the eighth graders ended up going 13-6 overall as a team.

Brady Koch said, “It was a great second meet to be at and overall I think the team is amazing.”

NC had five 7th graders that participated in the meet. At 90 pounds, Landon Mady went 0-3; at 105 pounds, Dason Hill went 2-0; at 110 pounds, Cole Ranieri went 2-0; at 115 pounds, Noah Hilbert went 2-1; at 165 pounds, Will Deters went 0-2. Overall the seventh graders ended up going 6-6 overall as a team.

Cole Ranieri said, “The meet had tough competition, but working as a team we pulled through.”

Overall the 8th graders showed improvement from week one and they will continue to focus on improving their skills. For the 7th grade, they keep trying to polish their skills for success. Despite all the injuries NC still managed to come out ahead of their opponents.
