6th grade class at Sycamore Springs

The Nemaha Central sixth graders piled on a bus and traveled to Sycamore Springs for a field trip on Friday, May 13. The students came ready for a day filled with fun. The teachers accompanying them were Mrs. Bailey Holthaus, Mrs. Carly Hill, and Mr. Hadden Hiltgen.

The sixth graders started out the adventure rollerskating as a class.  Towards the end of the roller skating time, some students went fishing or played volleyball.  Next, they took a break to eat lunch under the shelter house. After lunch, they were separated into two groups to golf or hike, and then they switched activities.  As the end of the school day neared, students loaded the bus exhausted for a trip back to the school.  It was a great day with a lot of physical activity!

"The hikes were fun and the tour guides gave us facts about the history of the area," said Carter Stallbaumer.

"It was very fun to hang with my friends and rollerskate, even though I fell a lot," said Cormik Hajek.
