Students feeding the buffalo

The first grade classes at Nemaha Central Elementary School traveled to the buffalo farm in Westmoreland and the Wamego park. Mrs. Burdiek’s class went on Tuesday, May 3. and Ms. Meyer and Ms. Burger’s classes went on Wednesday, May 18 due to weather conditions on their scheduled day.

The students arrived at school and boarded the bus. Then they headed to the buffalo farm in Westmoreland. At the farm, the students went on a wagon ride out to the area where the buffalo were grazing to see and feed the buffalo.

The students also ventured to the Wamego park to eat and play at the park. The students had lots of fun playing at the park. After the park, the students toured the historical buildings throughout the park in Wamego.

“Feeding the buffalo and seeing the historical buildings was really cool,” said Sam Fisher.
