On Saturday, November 20, the Nemaha Central’s Middle School wrestling team traveled to Effingham for a wrestling meet. There were nine schools attending the meet. ACCMS is known for having a scrappy wrestling team that doesn’t give up. Although it was tough, NC did a great job and really showed their wrestling skills. All athletes on the NCMS Thunder wrestling team won at least once during the meet.
Carter Hajek said, “It was a fun meet and there were a lot of teams there, it was also a great way to spend a Saturday with the boys.”
The wrestling team had a great showing and Harry Langill wrestling at 80 pounds went 2-0, Isaac Heinen wrestling just 10 pounds above Harry right at 90 pounds went 1-1, Harper Foster, the only girl wrestler for NC wrestling at 95 pounds went 2-1, Brady Koch wrestling at 100 pounds went 1-1, Layton Thomas wrestling at 110 pounds went 1-3, Conner Lueger wrestling at 115 pounds went 2-1, Sebastian Randall wrestling at 120 pounds went 1-2, Caleb Hynek wrestling at 127 pounds went 2-1, Jayden Seitz wrestling at 134 pounds went 1-1, Cameron Strathman wrestling at 141 pounds went 2-1, Daniel Childress wrestling at 165 pounds went 2-0, Kalem Schmelzle wrestling at 165 pounds went 2-0, Carter Hajek wrestling at 180 pounds went 2-0, and Kyler Ganstrom wrestling at 180 pounds went 2-0.
