The Nemaha Central Middle School wrestling team headed to Concordia on Saturday, November 13, 2021. It was the first tournament of the year since all previous meets were duals.
The varsity records were as follows: Harry Langill wrestling at 80 pounds went 2-1 and finished in 2nd place. Isaac Heinen wrestling at 90 pounds went 0-2 and finished in 3rd place. Harper Foster wrestling at 95 pounds went 3-1 and finished in 2nd place. Brady Koch wrestling at 100 pounds went 2-0 and finished in 1st place. Gus Rusche wrestling at 105 pounds went 1-3 and finished in 4th place. Layton Thomas wrestling at 110 pounds went 0-2 and finished in 3rd place. Jordan Lewis wrestling at 115 pounds went 1-3 and finished in 4th place. Sebastian Randall wrestling at 120 pounds went 2-1 and finished in 2nd place. Caleb Hynek wrestling at 127 pounds went 2-2 and finished in 3rd place. Jayden Seitz wrestling at 134 pounds went 1-2 and finished in 3rd place. Daniel Childress wrestling at 165 pounds went 4-0 and finished in 1st place. Carter Hajek wrestling at 180 pounds went 2-0 and finished in 1st place.
“Everyone came out and wrestled great against tough opponents,” said Jordan Lewis.
The junior varsity records were as follows: Conner Lueger wrestling at 110 pounds went 2-0 and finished in 1st place. Kalem Schmelzle wrestling at 165 pounds went 4-0 and finished in 1st place. Cole Lyons wrestling at 165 pounds went 1-3 and finished in 4th place. Kyler Ganstrom wrestling at 180 pounds went 4-0 and finished in 1st place.
“Competing with new teams was great, and I am proud of how well our team did,” said Harry Langill.
