The Nemaha Central Cross Country team had a meet at Sabetha on Thursday, October 7, 2021. Bob Langill, Colten Corby, Gus Rusche, and Rachel Nordhus were running at this meet. The Fun Run, which was open to youth runners, was a total of 1.3 miles long. NC, Sabetha, Jackson Heights, Saint Mary's Academy, ACCHS, and Kickapoo Nation were all present at the meet.
There were 18 runners in the girls race and 25 for the boys. Bob Langill finished the race in second place with a time of 7:22. Colten Corby finished right behind Bob to achieve third place with a time of 7:23 and Gus Rusche finished in twelfth place with a time of 8:38. In the girls race, Rachel Nordhus achieved first with a time of 9:09.
“The race was pretty good,” said Gus Rusche.
The NC cross country team enjoyed the fun run. They had the opportunity to show off their running endurance and speed. Their training after school has paid off since they did well at the race.
