The NCMS 7th Grade VB team serving the ball

The Nemaha Central Middle School volleyball team faced Holton on Thursday, September 16, 2021. The game was located at the Nemaha Central High School gym. The Thunder team warmed up before the game started and was ready to win.

The Thunder eighth grade A-team had a slow start losing the first set, 18-25. They played better in the second set but lost a close one, 25-27. In the third set, the Thunder team again came up short and dropped the set, 10-15. 

“It was really hard to think that we only lost by two in the second set, but I think that we played really well,” said Regan Sloop.

The eighth grade Thunder B-team started the match playing competitively and getting the win, 25-23. In the second set, NC outplayed Holton and won again with a score of 25-23. The third set was not good for the Thunder girls as they were defeated 9-15. However, the Thunder girls were still victorious in their match with Holton.

The seventh grade A-team was playing at the same time as the eighth grade A-team. In the first set, the Thunder destroyed the Wildcats with a score of 25-8. The second set was another great win for the Thunder girls with a score of 25-14. The teams played the third set and won again 15-13. 

In the last match, the Thunder B-team was looking for a win of their own. They accomplished it in the first set winning with a score of 25-18. In the second set, they played well together winning 25-6. The final set was another good one for the Thunder as they won, 15-13.

The eighth grade A-team did not win all the games but they went home knowing they still tried hard. All of the other teams were victorious on the evening.
