NCMS Volleyball Girls Pose for a Picture

The Nemaha Central Lady Thunder volleyball team traveled to Riverside to face the Cyclones on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The volleyball games were held in Wathena. The Thunder volleyball girls were ready to play hard and go for some wins!

The eighth grade A-team was outstanding, winning 25-15 in the first set. In the second set, they dropped the game losing a close one, 27-29. The Thunder girls fought hard in the third set but ended up losing 12-15.

“The games started out good. We fought hard, but we came up short,” said Kamryn Ranieri.

The eighth-grade B-team played well too winning 25-22 in their first set. The second set was another great game for the Thunder team as they picked up the win 25-13. Since the Thunder team already won both sets, they didn’t have to play the third set.

The seventh grade A-team started out amazing, winning their first set 25-11. In their second set, they played just as well winning with the same score as in the first set, 25-11. The third game was not played as NC picked up the match victory in 2 sets.

“I think we all worked really hard, and we gave it our all, but there is always room for improvement!” said Teagan Lueger.

The Thunder seventh-grade B-team gave it their all on the first set but lost, 21-25. In their second set, they rebounded and won 25-14. Since both teams had won a set, they had to play the third set, going to 15. The girls from NC kept on trying to get the win.  Finally, with several extra points, the Thunder team came out victorious, 19-17.

It was almost a clean sweep for the Thunder volleyball girls.  They hope to achieve this on one of their outings this season.  However, they are having fun playing the game!
