4th Grade class

The Nemaha Central fourth grade classes went on a field trip to the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan on Friday, May 2, 2025. They were excited to explore various exhibits and observe a wide range of animals.

The day began as the students and parents boarded the bus, with the excited voices filling the air. As they arrived at the zoo, the students were divided into groups and set loose to explore. They tried to see as many animals as possible before their group stopped and took a break for lunch. After their lunch, they continued their adventure, eager to see even more animals before the trip came to an end.

Kelsey Weber said, “My favorite part of the field trip was seeing the flamingos, turtles, and birds, and being with a group of friends.”

“I liked the white-handed gibbons. They entertained us by swinging on the vines and making funny noises,” said Wyatt Staulbaumer.

This trip provided a wonderful opportunity for students to leave the classroom and have new and exciting experiences. They had so much fun and were so grateful to be able to go on a trip like this.
