The Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School hosted a Spring Band Concert on Monday, May 12. The fifth through eighth grade band members performed several songs for the audience under the direction of Mr. Todd Krause, the band teacher. The concert was held at the Nemaha Central High School.
First up was the beginner band, the fifth grade. The fifth grade entertained the audience with several short songs from their Method Book. Select students introduced each piece of music, and then the band played the tunes. The fifth grade is large in numbers this year in the band.
Next up was the sixth grade band. The band played the following songs: "Prestige," "Welcome to Jurassic Park," "When Dinosaurs Ruled the World," and the last song was "Who Let the Dogs Out." The sixth grade is a smaller group of students, but they still sounded great.
The combined seventh and eighth grade band was the finale of the concert. The students played, "Star Spangled Banner," "In the Hall of the Mountain King," "Attack the Zomie Trombones," Excalibur," "Aztec Dance," and "Furioso."
As the school year winds down, the band students showed off their musical talents. The concert was a success, and the music helped liven up a stressful time of the year for many.
