Noah battles his opponent

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, the NCMS wrestling team traveled to Rossville. The teams there were Jeff West, Silver Lake, Royal Valley, Riley County, Rossville, Burlington Middle School, Doniphan West, Wamego, Pleasant Ridge, St Marys, Wabaunsee, Onaga, Rock Creek, Atchison County Community Middle School, Sabetha, McLouth, Perry Lecompton, Everest Middle School, and Nemaha Central.

Four out of the five 8th graders wrestled at the meet. Braden Macke went 2-2 and placed 4th in the 105 pound weight class. Noah Hilbert went 2-1 and placed 2nd in the 129 pound weight class. Cole Ranieri went 2-2 and placed 3rd in the 135 pound weight class. Will Deters went 1-2 and placed 6th in the 180 pound weight class. Landon Mady did not wrestle due to injury.

All five 7th graders wrestled at the meet. Tyson Beebe-Dishong went 2-1 and placed 3rd in the 75 pound weight class. Hudson Kuckelman went 2-1 and placed 3rd in the 90 pound weight class. Tate Edelman went 1-1 and didn’t place in the 141 pound weight class. Kaden Spirfslauge went 1-2 and placed 4th in the 148 pound weight class. Kollen Wagner went 0-1 and placed 4th in the 215 pound weight class.

Tyson Beebe-Dishong said, “it was fun because we were all wrestling new people”

Overall all of the wrestlers did very well but they were not able to pull through. Jeff West got first place in the meet with a score of 288 points. NC came out in 15th place with a score of 110 points.
