NCES Accelerated Reader Store

On Friday, December 13, students from Nemaha Central Elementary School went shopping at the Accelerated Reader store which was set up in the library. Students from first grade through third grade can read and take tests over their library books to earn points. These points can be used as money to buy items at the accelerated reader store.

Aubrey Wood, a second grader said, “It was good and fun and exciting!”

Students in the 4th and 5th grade also read and take tests over their library books to earn points. They try to get 30 points, which would earn them a trip to the movies! Students in these grades can also earn a pizza party if they make a goal of 100 points for the semester.

“It was a good movie,” said Autumn Finke, a fourth grader.

The AR Store is organized by the Parent/Teacher Organization. Parents volunteer their time to help set up the store. They also help the students shop. This will be the first time this year for students to shop at the AR Store.
