Coloring Contest Winners

The Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School had its first “Fab Family” meeting on September 13. The hallways were hectic and there was so much traffic, but all of the students made it to their family leader. Fab family events are an exciting time for all involved.

The fab families were excited to meet again and many of the students had a smile on their face even though the classrooms were different. The younger members were ecstatic to get together with the older students and have fun together. Teachers did a terrific job answering questions and making sure students had a blast! The students had so much fun playing games and meeting new family members.

The families got to be creative and pick their own, fun, unique family name. Even though the students had a lot of fun with this, the teachers seemed more excited about this event.

The games that were mostly played throughout the family groups were the Number Game and Switch Sides. Another common activity that some families participated in was dancing the Git Up. The Git Up was played at the most recent pep rally event and some of the teachers went out on the gym floor to dance.

Holden Bass said, “It was fun and it was a good chance to see people you never get to see.”

NCEMS had another fab family meeting on Friday, October 18. The halls were a little crazy but everyone made it to their classrooms on time. The teachers once again did a great job making sure the students were participating and having fun. So many students and teachers had a smile on their face and a very positive attitude.

Activities that took place in most of the rooms were Halloween pictionary, making spider hats, and coloring. Many students were talking about the coloring contest and showing their friends the pictures they were coloring.

Tatum Snyder said, “It was a lot of fun and I can’t wait until the next time!”

The coloring contest was a huge hit and the pages were displayed in the hallway.  The winners of the contest were Ashlynn Hernandez in kindergarten, Ellie Burkitt in first grade, Viviana Chub Acte in second grade, Olivia Hermesch in third grade, Cole Ranieri in fourth grade, Harry Langill in fifth grade, Jolie Jones in sixth grade, Alayna Scism in seventh grade, Donaldson Choc Chaman in eighth grade, and Mrs. Chelsey Haverkamp, staff.

It’s always great to hear positive things about everyone's family and how happy people are to see each other. Students and teachers are excited to have another fab family meeting next month to play more games and have lots of fun!
