NCMS Cross Country Hosts Invitational Meet

The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country team hosted their own invitational meet with the middle school races followed by high school races. The meet took place at the Spring Creek Golf Course on Thursday, September 24. The middle school team was glad to finally run on their own course. The course was a little hilly but the participants still did great. Participating teams include: Hiawatha, Washington County, Valley Heights, Everest, and Atchison County.

The middle school runners performed really well and the results are as follows. Seventh grader, Bob Langill placed 3rd out of eight runners with a time of 14:04. Flipping over to the 8th grade girls placements and times, Maddy Mosteller placed 2nd with a time of 14:02 and Presley Lutz placed 7th with a time of 17:01. There were 15 eighth grade girls participating. This time the only 8th grade boy participating was Lane Mosteller who placed 5th with a time of 12:57. Lane raced against 12 other athletes.

Presley Lutz said, “It was a really hot day and I think we all ran really well up against our rivals.”

The runners all did great on their home course. The Thunder athletes all look to improve before their final meet of the season. So far they have all had a wonderful season with plenty of excitement and placements.
