Abe Hilbert wrestling at ACCHS

The Nemaha Central Middle School wrestlers made the trip to Effingham to compete in ACCHS’s meet. There were five other teams competing at this meet. This meet was a decently hard meet, but that didn’t stop our wrestlers from competing and excelling in their weight class.

NCMS had 6 seventh-graders competing at the meet. At 95 lbs, Luis Lambrecht won four matches and lost none putting him in first place in his weight class. At 110 lbs, Dayton Nelson was unable to win a match, while losing three, putting him in last place for his weight class. At 134 lbs, Ayden New was not able to win a match and lost seven putting him in last place in his weight class. At 155 lbs, Peyton Ross won three and lost one match putting him in first place in his weight class. At 165 lbs, Spencer Lockhart was unable to win a match, while losing three, putting him in last place in his weight class. At 165 lbs, Abram Keim won four matches and lost none putting him in first place for his weight class. As you can see from the results, the meet was great, and many NC wrestlers excelled.

NCMS had 4 eighth-graders competing at the meet. At 100 lbs, John Langill won one match and lost one putting him in second place in his weight class. At 105 lbs, Miles Carpenter won two matches and lost two putting him in second place in his weight class. At 215 lbs, Abe Hilbert lost one match, having only one match this put him in second place for his weight class. At 265 lbs, Holden Bass won one match putting him in first place for his weight class. The eighth-grade wrestlers have greatly improved over the season.

“It was a great effort from everyone, and we did great,” said Abe Hilbert.

NCMS wrestlers are getting much better as the season advances and hope to succeed in one of their upcoming meets, the Big 7 league meet. They have been training very hard and getting in great shape in order to succeed on the mat. They have started from not knowing anything to looking much better as they are getting close to the end of the season.
