NCMS Volleyball Goes Up Against Hiawatha

For the fourth match of the Big 7 league play in the 2019 volleyball season, Nemaha Central played against Hiawatha on Thursday, September 19. The matches were played at the Nemaha Central High School in the main gymnasium.

The eighth grade A-team started off their match with a serve from Nemaha Central. The girls played the ball and had multiple pass, set, and hits. The first set started off good for the Thunder girls, but got rough as it went on. The Thunder team rallied back and won the first set, 29-27. The second set was much different as things went smoothly and NC dominated 25-3. Nemaha Central went on to win the third set 15-4 finishing off the match with a win!

“I was proud of how good we played that game and how we pulled through all the sets and won,” said Emma Stallbaumer.

The eighth grade B-team won their first set pretty easy with a score of 25-11. The next set went like a breeze and they took the win with a score of 25-6. The girls finished off the match winning the third set 15-6. The girls played very well and came out on top!

The seventh grade A-team started off their match winning the first set, 25-16. The second set went just as smoothly and they took the win with a score of 25-17. The girls won the third set 15-7 taking the win home that night!

The seventh grade B-team took the first set 25-10 starting the game off great. The Thunder girls kept up the hard work and won the second set 25-14. In the third set, Hiawatha started to come back and catch up to the Thunder. With great serves at the end of the game, the Thunder was able to come back on top and win 16-14. 

The Thunder ended on a great note Thursday night. All the teams took home the victory and the girls were excited and enthusiastic as they headed into the locker room. Way to go Lady Thunder! Roll Thunder Roll!
