NCMS Cross Country Team Heads to Washington

The Nemaha Central Middle School cross country runners headed to Washington for their second cross country meet on Thursday, September 12. The other schools in attendance along with NC were Solomon, Washington, and Valley Heights. NC only had 5 runners at this meet since it was the same date as a middle school football game.

There were 13 runners in the seventh and eighth grade boys race.  Lane Mosteller was the first NC runner to finish and he did so with a time of 13:30 to claim second place.  Joe Korber ran the course with a time of 17:47 to finish the race in tenth place.

In the middle school girls division, Hailey Nordhus led the way for NC finishing in fourth place with a time of 14:59. Right behind her finishing in fifth place was Maddy Mosteller with a time of 15:08.  Presley Lutz placed eighth with her 18:30 time out of 11 runners.

This meet was a great confidence builder for the NC runners.  The athletes that participated improved their times and felt good about the race.

Hailey Nordhus said, “We had a great time at the Washington meet.”
