The Nemaha Central Middle School football team faced off against Royal Valley on Thursday, October 4. NC needed a win coming off two straight losses coming from Sabetha and Holton. Royal Valley won the toss and deferred to the second half meaning NC would receive the ball first.  Royal Valley was unable to stop the first drive where NC scored when Blake Stallbaumer carried the ball into the end zone after a ten-yard run. NC was able to capitalize on the two-point conversion making the score 8-0 in the first quarter.

Royal Valley carried their drive over into the second quarter.  Nemaha Central let their guard down allowing a 30 yard run up the middle by Royal Valley to score a touchdown. NC was able to hold off Royal Valley's attempt at a two-point conversion making the score 8-6. Following that drive, NC took control of the game scoring three more times.  At half the score was 30-6 with NC dominating.

During the third quarter, Royal Valley could not get past NC’s defense.  The Thunder team would go on to score two more times. During the fourth quarter, Jaden Thomas got an interception and NC ran out the clock to end the game 42-6.

Cooper Scott said, “I think we did really good. We were really pumped up and it was fun!”

John Siess said, "I think we played one of our best games all year."
