NCMS Hosts Triangular Volleyball Games

    On Thursday, September 7, the first game of the triangular volleyball game that Nemaha Central Middle School played was against Axtell. The A-team won the first game of the match 25-13. During the first set, Katelyn Ohlsen served 8 points in a row.  Axtell  came back off their loss and won the second set with a score of 20-25. They had to play a third set against Axtell that NC ended up winning 15-12.  This gave NC their second win on the season. 

    After the match versus Axtell, NC had to play their town rival, Saints Peter and Paul Middle School. The score of the first set was 25-16. During the first set, Ella Larkin had a streak of serving 13 points in a row. The score of the second set was 25-19. The A-team won both sets to get the match win.   The A-team is now 3-0 on the season.

    Rachel Schmitz said, "I was very confident my team would win."

    The B-team won the first set 25-12 against Axtell. During the first set Kaylee Finney had a 12 point serving streak. The score to the second set was 25-11. During the second set, Elli Rusche had a streak of serving 8 points. The next opponent the B-team would face was SPPS.  The B-team lost in the first set, 23-25. In the second set, the Thunder gave them a battle winning the set 25-21. In the third set, SPPS prevailed with a 6-15 victory for the match win.  Even though the B-team lost, they are learning the game of volleyball and improving their skills as they play.

    Elli Rusche said, "The games were very fun."
