The mighty Thunder played the Saints Peter and Paul Trojans in an annual town rivalry football game on Thursday, September 7. The Thunder football team started off strong with five touchdowns in the first quarter holding the Trojans scoreless. At the end of the first quarter the score was 30-0 with a commanding Thunder lead. In the second quarter, there were a couple of great interceptions from Messiayah Nolte and Korbin Macke.  Blake Korber was also credited with a touchdown run to increase the Thunder lead. At halftime, the score was 38-0, Thunder still standing strong.

In the third quarter, the Thunder team scored another touchdown by an outstanding 45 yard run by Korbin Macke to increase the score to 44-0. Marcus Beck made a touchdown in the fourth quarter helping the Thunder win the game with an amazing score of 50-0.

After the game finished, a few extra plays were played between the two teams. A play was developed between NC and SPPS to allow Trenton Heiman to score a touchdown. Trenton is a manager for the football team and he loves being around football. The NC team advanced the ball down to the goal line and on the next play Trenton Heiman received a handoff and ran the ball to make a touchdown.

"I think the game was really exciting for all the players because we got to play our friends from the other school in a real game!" said Cooper Hajek.

"It was a lot of fun because we played well as a team!" said Kaleb Reitz.

With the win, the NC football team is now 1-1 on the season.
