To honor mothers in the month of May for the upcoming holiday of Mothers Day, the Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School held their annual Muffins For Moms breakfast. It was a bright and sunny morning on May 5th when mothers started to gather in the cafeteria with their children. Dozens of moms joined their children in the lunch room for a muffin and juice. Moms were able to come and go anytime between 7:15 and 7:45. A total of 425 muffins were ordered for the breakfast. The muffins provided to the families were sponsored by State Farm. Mrs. Haug, Mrs. Reinecke, Mrs. Sack, and Mrs. Larkin helped work the event.
"I think it is really great that we take the time at school to honor our mothers and all that they do for us every day of our lives," said Savannah Engelken, a 7th grade student.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day possible, especially all of the mothers, we appreciate all you do!
