The Nemaha Central Parent Teacher Organization sponsored an assembly by the African drummers on Wednesday, January 18. The African drummers consisted of two men that played the drums and the last man performed African dances. They played a couple of songs and then they told the students some interesting facts about the African culture. They told the students that their drums were made of cow's skin. Some interesting facts they shared were that there are 54 countries in Africa and they speak over 2,000 languages. Then, they taught a large group of students and staff a dance. All of NCEMS loved it and hope for another assembly soon.

"I liked the dancing because it was really fun," said Landon Mady, a first grader who participated in the dance.

"We are so very fortunate to have the support of the NC PTO to bring in wonderful assemblies such as this. This one was not only fun and entertaining, but educational as well. I heard many positive comments from students and staff about the performance," said Dr. Beck.
