On a bright Wednesday afternoon, Joe Odhiambo presented at an assembly at Nemaha Central Elementary and Middle School. Odhiambo was an NBA All-Star Performer between 2006 and 2010, was a former Phoenix Suns and Mercury Performer, and was given the title as the World's Greatest Basketball Dribbler.

Odhiambo is originally from Kenya in East Africa. "His humble beginning taught him the drive and work ethic which has allowed him to become the best in his class. Odhiambo now communicates these tough life lessons and experiences to his audience. He strongly believes that even though we start the race in different places, at the end of the day, what you put in is what you get out." Odhiambo has five attributes that he shares with the students.  Those attributes are faith in yourself, persistence, patience, working hard, and responsibility.

Students were excited and were active participants in Odhiambo's assembly.  He had the students and teachers dressing up and doing ball tricks with the basketball.  We would like to thank the NC Parent Teacher Organization for sponsoring the assembly.

"I like how he made them dress up.  The program was really cool," said Meg Honeyman.
