Representatives from the Seneca Fire Department visited Nemaha Central Elementary School to talk to students about their job and what to do in case of a fire. The school also conducted a fire drill while the firemen were present. The firemen came into the classrooms to discuss fire safety.  One fireman came in with his full uniform on so the students could see what he looks like and sounds like when there is a real fire.  He did this to show the students that they should not be afraid of him, and that the firemen are there to help.  After the firemen talked about what to do to be safe if there is a fire, they answered students questions and passed out bags with coloring books, stickers, and tattoos.  We really appreciate the firemen taking the time to come in and talk to our students. The third graders also got to tour an inflatable house and the firemen warned them of things not to touch.

Dr. Beck said, "Each year we appreciate the Seneca Firemen for coming to our school to help us with our drill and teach the students fire safety.  We have an amazing local fire department and we appreciate their support!"
