The Nemaha Central Middle School Football team played a tough opponent, the Silver Lake Eagles, on Thursday, September 29.  In the first quarter, things were rough for NC as they allowed Silver Lake to score sixteen points. In the second quarter, NC couldn't hold back Silver Lake's confusing and complicated offense as the Eagles added points to the scoreboard taking a 38 point lead into halftime.

In the second half, NC started catching on to Silver Lake's offense. The Eagles started to move the ball down field but were stopped on fourth down. By the end of the third quarter, NC held Silver Lake scoreless. In the last quarter, NC battled on defense and tried to get the offense going for a touchdown. However, Silver Lake got past our defense and scored one more touchdown. They missed the two-point conversion, making it 44-0 at the end of the game.

Mo Hilbert said, "I think that we played a great second half and if we would have played like that the whole game, we would have had a chance to win."

Jayden Bessett said, "We got destroyed because we didn't play hard enough."
