The Nemaha Central Middle School volleyball team hosted a game against Centralia on Monday, September 26. The A-team was the first to take the home court. The last time the Thunder A-Team played the Centralia Panthers, the Thunder lost. The loss against the Panthers really motivated the Thunder girls to try harder.

The Thunder played one of their best games against the Panthers this time around. NCMS had many great passes, sets, and hits; and that is what helped them win the first set, 25-16. The second set didn't start out the best for the Thunder. They let the Panthers get five points in a row. After the Thunder huddled up and talked about what they needed to do differently, they started scoring. There were a lot of rallies by both teams during the second set. The Thunder won the second set, 25-14, giving the Thunder the win against Centralia. The Thunder A-team now has a 7-2 record on the season.

"It felt great to redeem ourselves after losing to Centralia the first time we played them," said Cierra Lambrecht.

The next game was the Thunder B-Team. The Thunder B-Team was having some troubles getting the ball over the net. The first set ended, 19-25 with Centralia getting the win. In the next set the Thunder team was not getting their passes to the setter and they were having difficulty with serve receive. That set ended, 16-25, giving the Thunder B-team squad a loss for the night.

"Even though we lost, we had a great time," said Ellie Mady.

The C-Team only played one set. The set ended quickly because the NCMS serves and hits were going into the net. The Thunder C-team lost the match, 9-25.
