During the first quarter, the excitement began when Doniphan West scored on the kickoff and was able to score the 2-point conversion.  The NCMS Thunder team rallied back with a touchdown of their own, but was unable to get the 2-point conversion, making the score 6-8.

Then in the second quarter, Doniphan West scored another touchdown with the 2-point conversion, NCMS answered with another touchdown of their own, but  they were not able to get the 2-point conversion. The rest of the 2nd quarter the team fought hard, but the score remained 12-16.  At halftime their coach tallked with them and the team got fired up for the second half.

In the third quarter, the Mustangs scored first but this time they were unable to get the 2-point conversion, making the score 12-22.  NC did not score in the third quarter.  The fourth quarter was filled with excitement for NC.  Down 10 points going into the fourth quarter, they were needing 2 touchdowns.  The Thunder team gave it all they had and scored part way through the fourth quarter closing the scoring gap 18-22.  As the game was nearing the end, NC got some excitement going their way again when Talon Isenhart-Thomas blocked a punt for the Thunder. This set up their last drive of the game and the NC boys had good field position.  The Thunder moved the ball down the field and with little time remaining on the clock, Dalton Huerter passed the ball to Landen Baker to score a touchdown winning the game for NCMS, 24-22.
