The Nemaha Central Middle School volleyball team hosted a quad on Monday, September 19. The teams that attended were Centralia, Marysville, and Falls City. Only the A-team played in the quad.

The Thunder team started off the first game by playing 3 sets with Centralia.  Centralia claimed the first set with a close score of 21-25.  The Thunder did not give up playing hard in the second set and getting the win 25-14.  The final set was a hard-fought set with the Thunder team coming up short, losing the set 13-15. Centralia claimed the match win.

The next game the Thunder team played was with the Falls City Tigers. The Thunder was able to defeat the Tigers in 2 sets with the scores of  25-19 and 25-13. The last, but not least game of the night for the Thunder team was against Marysville. Marysville also gave the Thunder team a battle taking the match to 3 sets.  The Thunder team was able to win the first set 25-20. In the second set, Marysville was able to capitalize on some of the serving errors of the Thunder team and win the set 19-25.  The third set was another one that came down to the very end, however this time the Thunder team was able to get the win 15-13.  This win gave the Thunder team their second win of the night.

Coach Nikki Honeyman gave her thoughts on the night.  She said, "We struggled serving throughout the night, but I was impressed how they stepped up during the end of the Marysville game. I was glad to be able to play a quad, I thought this was good to help prepare for the OTL tournament."

"I think that we did a superb job. We picked up our game after losing to Centralia," said Camryn Boykin.

Taryn Ganstrom said, "We could of played better, but overall we still did good."

Even though the volleyball team didn't will all of their games, they still had a lot of fun.  Playing three matches a night can be tough and by playing a quad, the team gained experience and stamina to stay focused for all the matches.
