On Friday, September 2, Team Schnak hosted a Type One Diabetes Awareness Fundraiser for JDRF. The fundraiser was a free will donation lunch and it consisted of hot dogs, brats, beans, chips, ice cream, and bottled water. Seventh graders from Nemaha Central Middle School took time out of their school day to help with cleaning the tables and throwing away trash when people were done eating. The fundraiser was held by Kent Schnakenberg and he was assisted by some local people.  The seventh graders wore their Team Schnak shirts, donated by Schnakenberg, to show that they are supporters of Team Schnak.

"It was a fun experience and I enjoyed that we got to help," said Katelynn Scott.

Samuel McWilliams said, "It was a really fun and interesting experience. There were a lot of people I knew and didn't know. The food was delicious."

The seventh graders enjoyed this experience and hope to assist Schnakenberg in the future with his awareness fundraisers.  The fundraiser was successful and the money raised will go to the Team Schnak JDRF Walk Team.
