The cheerleaders kicked off the Nemaha Central Middle School sports season on Thursday, September 1 by performing a cheer routine at the fall pep rally.    After the cheerleaders' entrance performance, Dr. Beck welcomed everyone to the fall pep rally.  She talked to the students about the first volleyball and football game against Rossville and the meet in Marysville for the cross country team. Next, she introduced the coaches for the fall sports seasons.  Each coach had their team and managers come down and introduce themselves.

The cheerleaders came out again and did another cheer to get the crowd pumped up for the best part of any pep rally, the victory cheer! Mr. Hiltgen and Mrs. Honeyman were the judges and they were very impressed by the loudness of the students and staff at NCEMS. It took a minute, but they finally decided that 4th grade was the loudest and they received the spirit stick.

"It was really exciting because we won the spirit stick during the victory cheer," said Lilly Engelken, fourth grade student.

"We worked really hard to get to this point, while we made some mistakes, I believe that we still tried our best," said 7th grade cheerleader, Taryn Bergman.

It ended up being a great pep rally and everyone had a Thunderastic time!
