The Nemaha Central Middle School volleyball team played their town rivals, the Saints Peter and Paul Trojans, on Thursday, September 8. The night started out with the A-Team match with the Lady Thunder and the Lady Trojans. After an exciting back and forth set, the score to the first set was 25 to 20, NCMS on top.  The second set was also close but ended up 25 to 21, giving the Thunder their first win. The B-Team girls did their job during the match and really got the crowd riled up for the Thunder victory!

"It felt good to beat our town rivals," said 8th grader, Kari Heideman.

After the A-team match ended, the B-Team took the court. It was a great match with an energetic 3 sets. The Thunder barely won the first set in a tremendous battle, 25 to 23. The Trojans gave them a battle in the second set and the NC Thunder team lost 17 to 25. After losing the second set, the Thunder played well in the third set to defeat the Trojans, 15 to 9.

"I had a great time. There are some things that I think we could have done better, but I think it was a great learning experience," said 7th grader, Nadia Padilla.

To end the night the C-Team played only two sets. As the fans were cheering the players were working hard and they won the first set 25 to 16. The Thunder lost the next set 21 to 25, so the teams ended with a split in the match.
