Welcome Back Thunder Nation

Looking Forward To Another Great Year

July 26, 2016

With enrollment being held this week for the 2016-2017 school year in Nemaha Central Schools, I want to welcome our new families to Thunder Nation and welcome back the rest of our returning family! As always, I am excited for what is in store for the Thunder Nation in the upcoming school year. It is my belief that successful education of students is about the development of positive relationships; therefore, the focus in our district this year is to develop positive relationships between each and every member of our Thunder Nation Family.

Nemaha Central Elementary/Middle School and Nemaha Central High School are showing their commitment to relationships with their themes for the year. At Nemaha Central Elementary/Middle School the theme for the year is “Be The Reason Someone Smiles Today”. At Nemaha Central High School, the theme is “All In”.  Both of these themes were selected with the input of students which makes them even more special. Both themes demonstrate our commitment to make relationships an important part of our schools.

In the world we live in today it seems that so many people are disconnected from and angry at society so we need to build as many positive relationships as we can. Schools are a great place for this to start because there are so many different types of relationships. The first and most important is, of course, the connection between students and staff. We want every student in our Thunder Nation Family to feel that they have at least one adult they can connect to while at school. Additionally, the relationship between staff and parents is also very important part of a successful school district, and we want to make those connections as well. We want our students to develop relationships with the community at-large because those are skills that are important to have as one develops into a successful adult in our society today. I could go on and on about the many other types of relationships, but I think you get the picture.  Schools are ALL ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS.

Please join us in making connections with the all the great people that make up our Thunder Nation! Get out of your comfort zone and reach out to other members of Thunder Nation that you don’t know and introduce yourself and find out a little about them. Thunder Nation and the world will be a better place as we make those connections and develop positive relationships in our little corner of the world.

Again, welcome on board or welcome back for the 2016-2017 school year. Plan to be a part of what makes Nemaha Central Schools a great place to be and go out and create a new positive relationship in the Thunder Family.  You will be happy you did, and the world will be a better place.
