USD #115 Nemaha Central Transportation Receives Recognition

July 01, 2015

The Kansas State Department Education recently informed the USD #115 Nemaha Central Superintendent, Darrel Kohlman, that the District had received a perfect score on the Transportation Safety Review for the 2014-2015 school year.  Nemaha Central is one of only 37 percent of the Districts in the state of Kansas that received a perfect score.

The Transportation Safety Review focuses on five questions:

1.            All school districts have conducted at least one emergency evacuation drill per semester for all students riding a route bus.

2.            All drivers have appropriate driver licenses.

3.            All Drivers have current physical exam on file.

4.            Drivers have attended at least 10 safety meetings during past school year.

5.            Pre-trip inspections, available for one year on each vehicle used to transport student

“School buses transport what we value the most in this District, our students. I am proud of our bus drivers and transportation director, Kenny Sudbeck, for this accomplishment.” stated Kohlman.  "Patrons of USD #115 Nemaha Central can take pride in this accomplishment."
